Words of Wisdom... Words of Encouragement

It's been one year since I started working here at HQ Army Material Command (AMC) in Fort Belvoir, VA. I work for the AMC Command Chaplain's Office as an admin assistant and have seen the impact Guidepost's reading material has had in this army command. One of my duties is to keep our literature racks stocked. We have two located in separate buildings. People can't wait to get the next edition of the publications. Some stop me in the hall as I come around to fill our racks for the day. To be able to take part in being able to serve not only our civilian work force, but to minister to our troops as well, is a great privilege. Our mission statement says: "we support the Warfighter through providing competent and timely religious support for Soldiers, Authorized Civilian and Family Members of the Army Material Command; advise the Command on morale as impacted by religion, morals, and ethics; and ensure excellence and logistics for the U.S. Army Chaplaincy." Guideposts has certainly been a part of our religious support here.

Sergeant First Class Saundre Fletcher, stationed here at HQ AMC, is one of many who has benefited from Guideposts literature. "The Guideposts magazine has been my personal favorite to read.  The articles always inspire me, from health, wealth, and encouragement.  When I go places, I can put the Guideposts right in my purse.  When I go to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., I always grab a pile and bring them back to my co-workers, who looked for them every month.  I missed the Guideposts magazine when I went Kuwait.   Now that I know our AMC Chaplain's office issues Guideposts I will be looking for them!"

What else can we say other than to say thank you? Thank you for the great work you do, providing uplifting and inspiring reading for all to enjoy. The Guidepost reading material has been greatly appreciated by all who come to work here and especially by troops.

On the U.S. Army Chaplaincy Seal these words are written, "PRO DEO ET PATRIA", which is Latin for, "For God and Country." Truly we share a common goal. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Hooah!

We want to hear from you! Tell us here how Guideposts Outreach has impacted and changed your life.
