Kids Appreciation Day at Holtz Children’s Hospital Features an All-Star Team

Pawling, NY, August 19 — Invitations are out for a gala Kids Appreciation Day on Tuesday August 31 designed to bring maximum fun to Holtz Children’s Hospital’s young patients and their families. The event, combining the talents of Holtz staff, Guideposts Outreach Services and the Florida Marlins, will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on hospital grounds at 1611 N.W. 12th Avenue, East Tower Suite 6056, in Miami, FL. The gala will feature yummy, healthy food, and five activity stations manned by Florida Marlin players and Holtz and Guideposts staff.

For all three sponsoring organization, service is the name of the game. According to a survey by U.S. News and World Report, Holtz is among the country’s elite when it comes to treating kidney disorders in children and providing intensive care to the tiniest babies. A public hospital, it is widely considered the number one source of medical care for children with limited financial resources in the S. Florida area.

The Florida Marlins have long been committed to a high level of community service.  Their Foundation’s Cornerstones for Kids program supports health, education, arts and sports initiatives for kids, and Marlin players often make appearances at special events.

Guideposts Outreach Services, founded more than 60 years ago by Norman Vincent Peale and his wife Ruth, offers an array of ecumenical helping spiritual services to thousands of men, women and children from all walks of life. The organization’s Comfort Kit Ministry has recently become a full-fledged program designed to bring comfort and joy to sick and hospitalized children and their parents.

The event reflects the growing trend of partnerships among community organizations to serve their most vulnerable and at-risk children and their families.  Kids Appreciation Day will deliver a generous measure of joy and hope to the young patients and their families served by Holtz Children’s Hospital.
