Guideposts Comfort Kit Ministry Continues Rapid Development

Parents of hospitalized children, struggling to balance home, work and the needs of a beloved sick or injured child, need all the spiritual support they can get, and Guideposts Comfort Kits Ministry is doing just that.

With the distribution of 25,000 Comfort Kits, this brand new Comfort Kit Ministry is growing by leaps and bounds to fulfill its mission of bringing spiritual and emotional support to our nation’s hospitalized children.

Recuperation after a hospital experience can be difficult. “We are looking to distribute the kit to other departments within the hospital including emergency care and outpatient units, and outside the hospital setting to camps and organizations for ill and injured children,” Rhonda Neal, program manager, said.

Recent modifications to the kit create an even more universal appeal. “We’ve created a special stand-up prayer card in the shape of Sparkle, the Caring Starfish,” Rhonda said. “And we’ve made some changes to be sure the flexible bracelets appeal to both boys and girls.”
